World spanning media goliath, Warner Music Group (WMG), has partnered up with blockchain trailblazer, Polygon Labs, in order to expediate the growth of the decentralized music industry. In essence, the mighty duo have combined their resources to launch a blockchain music accelerator program to spearhead innovation in the sector.

Through the new initiative, both Polygon and WMG will provide funding to promising projects on an ongoing basis. This financial assistance with then also be backed up by marketing, mentorship, advice, and promotion, to provide the best possible kickstart for any fledgling Web3 music business.

The accelerator program itself has singled out several areas within decentralized music where it aims to provide focus. These include, but are not limited to, developing fan communities, decentralized music distribution, NFT ticketing, and music centric collectibles and merchandise.

Those with an innovative blockchain startup looking to get an extra little push, can apply via the associated web form.

Warner Music Group Continues to Champion Web3

While many big names have made tentative steps into the world of Web3, Warner Music Group has been a little more gung-ho in its approach. In the two years since NFTs hit the public eye, the media corporation has collaborated with OG marketplace Opensea, Metaverse wearables project, DressX, NFT gaming heavyweight, Splinterlands, and up and coming music platform LGND.

In addition, WMG has also made waves within the Metaverse by building a fully functioning gaming experience within The Sandbox. A virtual venue which represented one if the standout destinations within its Alpha season 3. So, while many smaller companies remain wary within the current climate, it’s full steam ahead for some of the biggest names in the industry!
