According to its latest press release, the Metal Gear Solid developer aims to recruit in a number of key areas, with 13 big shoes to fill in the roles of managers, producers, engineers and programmers. All destined to spearhead its latest drive into the world of non-fungible tokens and the metaverse.
Through the initiative, KONAMI has revealed designs to create a ‘unique distribution platform using blockchain,’ achieving this goal by essentially building its own in-house NFT marketplace. Then it will introduce a number of token types that will include gaming NFTs and a KONAMI loyalty program.
KONAMI first took a dip into the world of NFTs back in January with an anniversary celebration of its beloved Castlevania franchise. A move that seemingly gave the storied developer the impetus to move further into the industry and prepare it for the next stage of its journey deeper into the Web3 space.
